PURPOSE:To restart a CPU with no interruption of the power supply even if the CPU is in a runaway state after the start of the power supply and is automatically reset. CONSTITUTION:A WD monitoring circuit 3 monitors the watchdog pulses which are periodically outputted from a CPU 1, and one of output signals of the circuit 3 is used as the reset signal of the CPU 1 with another output signal used as an error signal. If the error signals shows a runaway state when the CPU 1 is reset, the storage contents of a RAM which stores temporarily a power supply control signal are not reset and held as they are as long as the storage contents are not broken. |
