PURPOSE:To control the direction of light propagation compulsively, by applying external magnetic field to the electrons passing through the semiconductor laser element junction plane orthogonally, deflecting the orbit of electrons toward advancing direction of laser light, and making unbalancing the transition of electrons inducing the occurrence of light from the opposite direction. CONSTITUTION:When drive current i flows from the lower to upper end of the junction plane 12 of the semiconductor laser element 11, the laser light reciprocating the part between the both ends 12-1 and 12-2 of the junction plane 12 is caused and a part of the laser light 13 is emitted from the both ends. In this case, the flow of electrons passing through the junction plane 12 vertically as shown in the arrow mark 14 as dotted lines. With this constitution, external magnetic field is fed to the electrons 14 flowing toward the arrow mark 14, causing Hall effect, and the orbit of electrons are curved with the Lorentz force produced and the flow is made arc shape as shown in the arrow 15. Thus, unbalance is caused to the transition propability from a to b and only laser light from the incident light 21 to the outgoing light 22 is selectively amplified. |
