PURPOSE:To provide an optical head by which signal levels from plural tracks read out in parallel are made nearly uniform, where a signal processing circuit is simplified, and by which information is read out with high reliability over the entire plural tracks. CONSTITUTION:A light beam from a light source 1 is projected over plural tracks on an optical recording medium 6 through a slit-like spot forming means 4 and an objective lens 5, and information recorded on the plural tracks is read out in parallel. A light quantity distribution changing means 3 which makes the light quantity distribution of a light beam spot 10 in a direction nearly orthogonally crossed with the track on the optical recording medium 6 nearly uniform, is provided in an optical path between the light source 1 and the objective lens 5. |
