PURPOSE:To provide the device which can improve the recognizing rate for attachment of the foreign matters without increasing the manufacturing cost for check of the thickness of the thin paper sheets such as paper moneies. CONSTITUTION:Plural sensor means 10 are arrayed across a transfer path of the paper sheets. A sensor output correction means 12 increases and corrects the component equivalent to the thickness of the foreign matter attached to the paper sheet included in the output of the means 10 based on the prescribed characteristic. A thickness comparator means 14 compares the corrected sensor output with the stored standard thickness of the paper sheet. A comparison standard storage means 16 storing the standard thickness which is compared with the output of the means 10. Then, a normalcy deciding means 18 decides the normalcy concerning the thickness of the paper sheet based on the thickness of the paper sheet shown by the output of the means 10 and the thickness comparison result. |
