The stem (12) of the tool, which carries replaceable tool heads (10), presents an axial receptor hole (20) in the head (16) of the stem. The short stem (14) of the tool head fits into the receptor hole, so that the spring-mounted securing bolt (24) locks into a side hole (26) formed in the head of the tool stem. A release mechanism allows the release plate (46) to be operated externally, depressing the bolt against the spring, to allow the tool head to be removed. The release plate is held in the side hole, in contact with the end of the securing bolt, when clicked into place. When it is pressed, it pushes the bolt to free the tool. USE/ADVANTAGE - Releasable attachment mechanism for tool carrier with series of replaceable tools which provides a simple and reliable method of fixing the tool and allows its easy release.
