The dye-affinity of polyalkylene terephthalate filaments, fibres, yarns, fabrics, films and like structures is improved by treatment with dioxane, preferably at a temperature of 85 DEG C. to the boiling point and for 15 minutes to 2 hours. Specification 578,079, [Group IV], is referred to.ALSO:The dye-affinity, particularly towards acetate, direct and vat dyestuffs, of polyalkylene terephthalate filaments, fibres, yarns, fabrics, films and like structures is improved by treatment with dioxane, preferably at a temperature of 85 DEG C. to the boiling point and for 15 minutes to 2 hours.
