<p>PURPOSE:To provide a leather-like sheet having soft and comfortable touch and excellent abrasion resistance, flexural resistance and color fastness to satisfy the contradictory requirements of good feeling, high strength and high color fastness. CONSTITUTION:The objective sheet is composed of three-dimensionally interlocked fiber bundles consisting of ultrafine polyamide fibers having uniform thickness of <=0.5d and a polymeric elastomer filled in the spaces between the fiber bundles in a state not to directly bond the fibers constituting the fiber bundles. The sheet is produced by spinning a fiber composed of mutually arranged polymers consisting of nylon 6 as an island component and a polystyrene copolymer as a sea component, drawing the obtained undrawn yarn at a draw ratio of >=3, crimping the drawn yarn to obtain staples having a definite fiber length, forming a nonwoven fabric from the staples, applying a polymeric elastomer to the fabric and dissolving and removing the sea component of the fiber composed of mutually arranged polymers.</p> |
