The door is formed with two flaps (2) and is suitable for use with all systems for holding immobilised pigs, particularly sows. It leaves a space (1), which is narrower than the width of the animal, between the two flaps (2). The flaps are supported so as to pivot on the two independent axes (8). The flaps are prevented from opening outwards by the stop plates (3), attached to the vertical tubes (9) of the flaps, which come into contact with the vertical tubes (7) formed at the end of the side barriers. The ends of the stop plates are formed as pivots (11) to carry a second pivot pin, which with the use of the alternate pivot supports (12) can form either a lock, to immobilise the flaps, or a second pivot. ADVANTAGE - The use of two pivots allows the flaps to be immobilised or to open outwards or inwards.
