1275109 Stabilization of chlorinated paraffins PRODUITS CHIMIQUES PECHINEYSAINT-GOBAIN 15 July 1969 [15 July 1968] 35565/69 Heading C2C [Also in Division C5] Chlorinated paraffins having from 8 to 27 carbon atoms and a chlorine content of from 20 to 75% are stabilized by mixing with an epoxidized compound containing at least 8 carbon atoms and a magnesium compound, the magnesium compound being present in a quantity to give from 0À001 to 10% magnesium with respect to the weight of epoxidized compound. The magnesium compound may be an oxide, hydroxide, oxychloride, carbonate, chloride, nitrate, phosphate, acetate, stearate, naphthenate, benzoate, phthalate, tartrate, lactate, maleate, itaconate, fumarate, chlorendate or alcoholate, or an organo-magnesium compound. The epoxidized compound may be derived from a C 12-22 acid or an ester thereof with a mono- or poly-alcohol, such as octyl epoxystearate or the epoxidized vegetable oils. |
