A water purifying and sterilizing apparatus comprised of a box within which three filtering chambers are provided, one of which contains resin as a filtering element within its interior, another contains charcoal as a filtering element within its interior, while the third carries within an ultraviolet lamp. This third chamber also has a flow baffle, comprised of a circular part centrally provided with a circular orifice that surrounds the lamp. This part is made-up of U-shaped sections, interconnected by ramps, describing rectangular openings for water to flow through.
