PURPOSE:To obtain a thin film magnetic head having excellent durability, weatherability and reliability by composing glass for adhesion so as to contain components PbO, B2O3, SiO2, Al2O3, ZnO, R2O (where R2O is selected from Na2O, K2O, Li2O). CONSTITUTION:A thin film head constituting part formed on a substrate and the other substrate to protect the thin film head constituting part are adhered and united by the glass. The compsn. of the glass for adhesion contains, by mol%, the components within the range of 30-58% PbO, 2-15% B2O3, 20-47% SiO2, 0-15% Al2O3, 0-15% ZnO, 0-20% R2O (where R2O is total of 1 or >=2 kinds of Na2O, K2O, Li2O). The thin film magnetic head having the excellent durability, weatherability and reliability is thus formed. |
