PURPOSE:To get a permanent magnet 25MGOe or more in maximum energy product and 5kg or more in weight by having rare earth elements (including Y), transition metal, and boron for its basic ingredients, and hot-processing the cast ingot at 500 deg.C or more, and further, giving magnetic anisotropy and mechanical orientation. CONSTITUTION:Specified quantities of rare earth, electrolytic iron, and ferro boron are fused in argon atmosphere by an induction heater, and are cast in a mold. Subsequently, it is hot-processed at a temperature of 500 deg.C or more, and the fellow ingots are bonded to each other during hot processing. Moreover, high compressive stress is applied uniformly in the hot-processing process. Hereby, a permanent magnet 2.5MGOe or more in maximum energy product, and 25mm or more in anisotropic direction, or 5Kg or more in weight can be gotten. |
