The nut comprises an upper and a lower part, and out of the upper part counter hooks (4) are bent downwards, which for drawing the nut tightly wedge into the threads of the screw due to the action of a cone (2) in the lower part of the nut. The cone (2) has guides for the counter hooks (4). The bending edges of the counter hooks (4) are adjusted by an angle of 10 - 30 deg. against the axes of the self-securing nut in the rotary direction of the screw. USE/ADVANTAGE - A self-securing nut which is effective in vibration situations and even with large temp. variations.
