<p>PURPOSE:To vaporize and remove impurities, particularly, the impurity elements called tramp elements such as Sn, Cu, As, Bi, Pb, etc., at the time of melting iron and steel material of scrap, etc. CONSTITUTION:At the time of charging and melting the steel scrap in a reaction vessel 4 being possible to blow gas from the top and bottom parts, the ratio of top blowing firing point area formed on the iron bath surface possessed to the iron bath surface area is made to be >=20% and the tramp elements in the molten iron 6 are vaporized and removed. The tramp element can be removed in a shorter time and at a lower cost than these in the conventional methods without adverse influence on the operability.</p> |
