The appts. comprises a prismatic block (1) with an integral central sleeve (6). A block (9) runs through the sleeve (6) and engages with a threaded insert (12) mounted in an underground fixture (11). The block (1) contains a cavity (5) covered with a protective hinged flap (32) contg. a terminal plate (36). The terminals (34,35) are connected by conductors (40,43) to connections on the underground fixture (11) making good earth contact.
