The gauge consists of a sealed tube (2) which is fixed to the top of a dipstick (12). Inside the tube (2) are two micro-switches (5,7) which are connected by leads (6,8) to contacts (14,15) of a removable adapter (16) which is connected to remote indicating lamps.
