PURPOSE:To provide the subject enzyme capable of decomposing gamma-polyglutamic acid into endo-types, i.e., oligo-L-glutamic acid and poly-D-glutamic acid. CONSTITUTION:An enzyme with a molecular weight of ca.68000 satisfying the above purpose has been found from Myrothecium sp. TM-4222 strain. When this enzyme is made to act on gamma-polyglutamic acid, oligo-L-glutamic acid and poly-D-glutamic acid each 2-4 in polymerization degree can ultimately be obtained. |
