The heat exchanger has a housing with a hood (2) and cover plate (4) with butting adhesive joints at their end surfaces. The connection ends of the tube system (5) are held in the cover plate (4) through an adhesive sealing round the outer tube (5) surfaces. Pref. the connection ends are formed by tube sections tightly bonded together by an adhesive. The tube sections are tightly bonded by adhesive in a sleeve. The adhesion is applied in two stages. In the first stage, a high tensile anaeronic adhesive such as TEGMA is applied to the parts to be bonded together, and allowed to harden to 6-24 hrs. A second adhesive is applied in the second stage, which can be hardened by ultra-violet very rapidly after allowing the parts to be positioned together, using an ethoxythyl acrylate B-hydroxy methyk methacrylate for example. USE/ADVANTAGE - The housing for the heat exchanger is simple with low mfg. costs.
