PURPOSE:To improve the productivity of the piping treatment ''without deteriorating the comfort of a knit product by tucking elastic yarns in the front and back knitting needles at the end of the knit fabric, forming a piping knit fabric with one of the knitting needles, combining the elastic yarn in the other knitting needle with the piping knit fabric and felling the combined part. CONSTITUTION:A neck part 4, the end part of the body 3 of knit fabric, is formed into a piping knit fabric with a flat knitting machine. Elastic yarns are tucked in the prescribed front and back knitting needles at the end part of the knit fabric to be subjected to the starting of the piping treatment. The elastic yarn tucked in either of the knitting needles is left as such and a piping knit fabric part is formed with the other knitting needle. The loops on the end part of the piping knit fabric part are combined with the elastic yarn left in the tucked state, and the loops at the combined part are felled with the elastic yarn to form the piping. |
