PURPOSE:To give continuity of faulty information even to a terminal equipment having no power source, by saving storage contents into an external memory unit at a power source open time and by loading them to a fault storage area at a power supply time. CONSTITUTION:The terminal equipment is controlled by micro processor 4, and the processing advances according to the program stored in ROM5 or RAM1. When a hardware fault occurs under the operating state of the terminal equipment, the hysteresis of fault occurrence is increased by +1 and the occurrence time is recorded in fault information storage area 2 by the processing of processor 4. Then, in case that the power off key on key board 12 is depressed, floppy disc memory 3 is started under the control of processor 4 to save contents of storage area 2 onto memory 3. Fault information held in memory 3 is loaded together with the initial program to storage area 2 at the power supply time for the terminal equipment. By this system, the terminal equipment requires no power source.
