<p>PURPOSE:To prevent transmission of an undesired cell due to an echo component. CONSTITUTION:A transmission section 1 has an echo canceller 3, a coding section 4, a voice detection section 6, a MODEM detection section 7, and a cell composition section 5, and a reception section 2 has a cell decomposition section 8 and a decoding section 9. When a voice cell resulting from application of cell processing to a voice signal is sent/received, the echo canceller 3 of the caller side and the called party is controlled in the enable state. Furthermore, when data cell resulting from application of cell processing to a facsimile signal or the like is sent/received, the echo canceller 3 of the caller side sending the data cell is controlled in the disable state and the echo canceller 3 of the called party is controlled in the enable state.</p> |
