A spring between the monkey and a concrete pile which is to be driven is composed of several layers of rubber and sheets of steel or twaron. The rubber provides the resilience of the filling and steel and twaron serve to spread the heat and force. The characteristic feature of the invention is the dimensioning of rubber and steel or twaron plates. The rubber grade is selected in such a manner that it is possible for there to be a good transfer of energy between the monkey and the pile.
