<p>PURPOSE:To prevent a surge voltage applied to a transformer from a power line from exceeding the discharge voltage of a lightning arrester connected to the transformer by a method wherein the lightning arrester is arranged adjacent to the outside of a transformer housing. CONSTITUTION:A transformer housing 1 is a closed-type case where a transformer coil 3 is housed and which is charged with insulating gas or insulating oil. Lead-out wires 4 and 5 of the transformer coil 3 are connected to primary bushings 10 and 11 and led outside of the transformer housing 1 keeping the housing 1 hermetic. An opening 8 is provided to the side face of the transformer housing 1, and a lightning arrester case 2 is provided to the transformer housing 1 in a detachable manner so as to communicate with the opening 8. A lightning arrester 7 is housed in the lightning arrester case 2. Furthermore, the opening 8 of the transformer housing 1 is hermetically closed with a spacer 12 of insulating member. By this setup, a surge voltage applied to a transformer coil is restrained from exceeding the discharge voltage of a lightning arrester, and furthermore the lightning arrester is prevented from being subjected to an adverse effect of heat released from a transformer.</p> |
