ROTATION NUMBER INPUT DEVICE BY COORDINATE SENSOR

PURPOSE:To provide the input device capable of satisfactory designation like a dial by rotating a finger or the like on a coordinate input sensor by a user to designate a coordinate value and detecting this coordinate value by the coordinate input sensor to calculate the number of rotations and changing a set value. CONSTITUTION:The user vertically scrolls the picture by clockwise or counterclockwise rotation of his finger on an input part consisting or a coordinate input sensor 1 to designate which part of information should be displayed on the screen of a display device 2. That is, the signal value indicating whether the user touches the coordinate input sensor or not and the coordinate value for this touch are obtained by the coordinate input sensor 1. They are inputted to a rotation extent calculating circuit 4 to calculate the number of rotations for user's finger rotation, and the number of increase/reduction of the value is obtained. It can be controlled in accordance with the size of a circle described by the user. The extent of increase/reduction of the value obtained in this manner is inputted to an information retrieval processing device and is displayed on the screen of the display device 2.
