PURPOSE:To obtain the optical recording medium which has high-accuracy preformats and enables the recycling of an original plate by providing electrodeposition layers disposed in the form of the patterns corresponding to the preformats on a substrate. CONSTITUTION:A base material 11 is disposed with the electrodeposition layers 12 in the form of the patterns corresponding to the preformats on its surface to form a substrate 16 for the optical recording medium. The regions where the electrodeposition layers 12 are not formed constitute tracking tracks 17 which are the preformats. A recording layer 13, an adhesive layer 14 and a protective substrate 15 are successively laminated on the preformat forming surface of the substrate 16 for the optical recording medium. The electrodeposition layers are not formed exclusive of the parts of the original plate where a conductive layer 22 is exposed and, therefore, the patterns corresponding to the fine preformats of micron order or submicron order are formable with good accuracy. |
