A blind rivet-type clamping fastener (1) has a deformable sleeve part (2), a drift part (4) and a drilling part (5). The drilling part (5) is held in a movable or removable manner in the axial direction (6), with respect to the free end of the clamping fastener (1). During setting, the free end area (16) of the sleeve part (2) cooperates with radially projecting stop surfaces (12) of the drilling part (5), so that an axial force is exerted on these stop surfaces (12) of the drilling part (5). As setting continues, this force acts on the drilling part (5), displacing or removing it in the axial direction.
