PURPOSE:To recognize the position of a desired body in motion among bodies which move on a screen in different directions at different speeds by providing a binary coding means, a window generating means, and a position calculating means and recognizing the position of the moving body in real time. CONSTITUTION:An image signal consisting of three dimensions which are a horizontal component, a vertical component, and time is passed through a time- spatial filter to obtain a moving body image signal wherein the bodies in motion in the image are extracted or emphasized. This moving body image signal is inputted from an input terminal 1 and converted by a binary coding circuit 3 into a binary image signal according to a specific threshold value. The window generating circuit 4 generates a pyramid with multistage resolution for the binary image signal, windows respective resolution values, and determines the respective sides of the closest window. Then a position calculating means 5 calculates the center of gravity of the determined window to calculate the position of the body. A position recognition signal which is position data on the calculated object is outputted from a position signal output terminal 6. |
