PURPOSE:To set an effective document layout in accordance with each situation by providing a frame position/size setting means and a margin/text size setting means. CONSTITUTION:When the position and the size of a frame are designated by a mouse 6, the data on the position, the height and the width of the designated frame are written in a frame information storage area 3-1. When a margin is designated, the vertical and horizontal sizes of the margin are inputted within the frame through a keyboard 5. Thus the margin data on the frame information are set and at the same time the text size data are automatically calculated. Then the height and the width of the text size are set for the frame information. When the text size is designated, the height and the width of the text size of the frame information are set after input of these height and width received through the keyboard 5. At the same time, the margin data are automatically calculated. Then the preference information contained in the frame information is set at 0 or 1 based on the instruction of the keyboard 5. |
