PURPOSE:To provide a system which can record required card reading informa tion accurately on the sheets of paper in spite of the inserting direction of cards with regard to the system to perform optical reading of the card inserted in a device and to record the read out image on the sheets of paper. CONSTITUTION:A card inserting direction discriminating means 12 discriminates the inserting direction of a card 10 to be a transaction medium, an optical card reading means 14 reads out optically the surface of the inserted card 10, and a reading region limiting means 16 limits the reading region of the card 10 within stipulated range when the inserting direction of the card 10 is discriminated as a forward direction. A reading region expanding means 18 expands the card reading region to the entire outline of the card surface when the inserting direction of the card 10 is discriminated as a backward direction, and a reverse image editing means 20 edits the obtained card reading information about the expanded region and transforms it to the posture at the time of forward inserting. An image extracting means 22 extracts the part to be the inside of the stipulated range from the edited card reading information, and an image printing mean 24 prints the reading information of the card 10 inserted in the forward direction or the extracted information. |
