PURPOSE:To provide a connector for memory card in which thickness can be reduced and miniaturization can be attained while preventing dielectric breakdown from occurring as the card. CONSTITUTION:The connector is comprised of a U-shape insulator 51 setting a central connection part as a connector main body 51b, a card take-out lever 52 turned setting a projection 51c located at one side plane of a main body area as an axis, a sliding cover 53 movable while covering the insulator 51 according to the turning of the lever 52 with engaging means 52b, 53b formed in the neighborhood of one terminal of the lever, and a connecting piece 54 being grounded and fixed on a printed circuit board 3 and coming in contact with the cover 53 at its surface. Also, it is comprised of a projecting piece 53a which separates the card 1 from the main body 51b when the cover 53 is interposed between the joining part of the card 1 and the connector main body 51b except for a terminal arranging area when the card 1 is brought into contact with the connector main body 51b, and also, the lever 52 is turned from that position in one direction, and a tongue piece 53d formed by bending its tip inside along a sliding direction so as to be directed to a main body 51b side.
