Paper making blanket belt monitor - has combined action of microwaves to register water content with underpressure measurement and suction air temp. to restore belt condition

The appts. to test the condition of a blanket belt, for a papermaking machine, has a monitor system fitted to the measurement head with a microwave radiator connected to the measurement instrument to register the water content in the blanket. A thermal sensor registers the temp. of the air drawn through the air channel by suction through the measurement head. The microwave radiator is pref. activated to measure the water content of the blanket simultaneously with the under-pressure measurement. The thermal sensor measures the air temp. continuously during under-pressure measurement. A display is provided for the measurement systems to show the measured values at the time of measurement, as a profile across the blanket. USE/ADVANTAGE - The appts. is used to monitor the state of the papermaking blanket belt, where air is drawn through the belt by suction at a measurement head. The combined readings at the same measurement head ensure that the blanket condition can be restored to meet the current working conditions.
