PURPOSE:To provide a television conference system able to control an output of a monitor screen in response to the state of a TV camera. CONSTITUTION:The sender side is provided with a switch 122 turning on/off an output of a TV camera 120 and with a conference control section 110 controlling on/off of the switch and the turning of the TV camera and the receiver side is provided with a monitor 220. The switch 122 is turned off at the sender side while the TV camera 120 is being turned, the transmission of an input video image from the camera 120 is suppressed, and video data after reception are displayed on the monitor 220 of the receiver side before the camera is turned. Since the transmission of useless video data is suppressed during the turning of the TV camera, the communication cost is saved. |
