In a process for the production of wooden units, the starting point is provided by at least one elongated wood element 1,8, in which two cross-cuts 9 extending essentially at right angles to each other are made in its longitudinal direction, which cross-cuts intersect in the centre of the original wood element so as to divide the original wood element into four elongated wood elements 2,11,16-19. Four elongated wood elements which are thus obtained are glued together with one another at the ends of the surfaces formed by the said cross-cuts, which surfaces, viewed in cross section, are situated opposite the right-angled corner of each element and with the right-angled corners 12 of adjacent elongated elements standing at right angles to one another, whereby the right-angled corners of the elongated wood elements form each of the four corners of a wooden unit having a rectangular cross section and having an inner longitudinal cavity 7. <IMAGE> |
