The cable carrier has a channel-type cross-section formed from a base and two side walls (2) formed as L-shaped profiles. The base comprises cross bars which are fixed to horizontally opposed arms (3) of the L-shaped profiles. The ends of the cross bars (1) are formed for fixture to the side walls (2), and the bars are fixed to the side walls by means of an unreleasable union ensuring protection of the parts to be joined.The cross bars (1) have a round cross-section and are flattened at their ends (1.1). They are arched upwards, and the side walls, apart from being joined by the cross bars, are also united by draw components consisting of steel plate strips. They are made of zinc-plated round steel or of U or V-profile formed steel plate strips, the strip ends being flat.
