The segments (3,3') are held at their outer circumference by a clamping system, which includes a clamping ring (6) and threaded bolts (7). The crucible and hopper are surrounded by at least one induction coil (10). The palisade segments of the crucible and/or hopper are insulated against the parts, which are embracing at the clamping places. The palisades (3,3') are made of copper or copper type material. The palisades can be made of a material, which has a higher temp. stability than copper. The palisades can be positioned and held by circular discs and/or ring shaped components. ADVANTAGE - Minimises efficiency loss and simplifies mounting of palisades. Width of slits between individual palisades and dia. of pouring opening at stream guide system is variable.
