The toroid housing has an upper, mushroom shaped cover with a central recess for a detonator (1). Screw threads on inner- and outer walls join the two sections together onto seals, and with integral filters to hold back particles.The detonator is fired via an integral heating element. The filter layers include wire wool (12) and are positioned around the outer part of the toroid space and covered with walls broken by the gas pressure. The gas path provides a cooling action.
