PURPOSE:To obtain a catalyst capable of effective catalytic reduction of nitrogen oxides contained in an exhaust gas discharged from plants or the like in the presence of oxygen by depositing provskite multiple oxide having the specified structure consisting of various elements included with rare earth elements on solid-acid carrier. CONSTITUTION:The provskite multiple oxide expressed by a formula is deposited on the solid-acid carrier. (In the formula, A is an element selected from group of La, Y, Ce, Pr, Nd, Pm, Sm, Eu, Gd, B is an element selected from group of Na, K, Bi, Th, Ba, Sr, Ca, Mg, Pb, Zn, Ag, C is an element selected from group of Mn, Co, Fe, Ni, Cr, V, Cu, Mo, W, Ta, Li, Ti, Zr, Nb, Pd, Rh, Ru, Pt, 0<=x<=1.) The solid acid carrier is zeolite, metallosilicate, crystalline Al silicate phosphate, crystalline Al phosphate, crystalline metal Al phosphoric acid, alumina, titania, zirconia, silica-alumina or the like. |
