PURPOSE:To prevent oil from blowing into the atmosphere by forming a first chamber connected to the inside of a differential case and a second chamber connected to the first chamber through a restriction hole and connected to the inside of the differential carrier through an oil return hole in a side gear shaft of a differential gear mechanism. CONSTITUTION:A differential gear mechanism positioned in a differential carrier is provided with a side gear shaft 10 extending from a side gear and projected to the atmosphere through a differential carrier. In such a side gear shaft 10, a first chamber 18 connected to the inside of the differential case and a second chamber 20 connected to the first chamber 18 through a restriction hole 34 and communicated to the atmosphere through a restriction hole 36 are formed by a drill hole opened from one end 19 of the shaft. Also, an oil return hole 40 connected to the inside of the differential carrier and extending to outer radial direction is formed in the second chamber 20. Thus flow of the oil fed into the first chamber 18 to the second chamber 20 is prevented, and the oil fed into the second chamber 20 is returned from the oil return hole 40 to the inside of the differential carrier.
