PURPOSE:To improve productivity through automation of a connecting work by fusing and connecting the starting end of a new film to the terminal end of an unwound film through detection of the terminal end thereof. CONSTITUTION:A film F1 unwound from a first film roll FR1 is guided to a feed roller 6 and positioned. Similarly, a film F2 unwound from a second film roll FR2 is guided to a position over a heating press 8 for connection and positioned. When the first film F1 is continuously fed and the terminal end thereof passes a film sensor 9, drive of the feed roller 6 is stopped by means of an output signal from the film sensor 9. The upper seal bar 82 of the heating press device 8 for connection is lowered, the films F1 and F2 are nipped and fused together between the upper seal bar and a lower seal bar 81 and the vicinity of the terminal end of the film F1 and the vicinity of the starting end of the film F2 are interconnected. Subsequently, the fused part between the films F1 and F2 is cut, a film ranging from a cut position to an end is removed, and drive of the feed roller 6 is restarted. |
