The elastic woven band has a surface effecting the adhesion. The surface consists of either cling yarns which are worked into the elastic band (1) directly in sections or of adhesive tape pieces (2) mounted singly at short distances across the direction of the elastic band. The mounting is pref. effected via a wash-resistant layer of melt adhesive. ADVANTAGE - The invention provides an alternative to elastic bands that have been integrated into a garment or are drawn in into hems.
