The liquid crystal display with an active matrix contains signal line control integrated circuits (10(1)-10(n)), two power supply control circuits (20,20'), a matrix substrate (30) and gate line control circuits (40). The matrix substrate is of glass with pixel electrodes (31) coupled by tines (D1-Dm) formed on the surface at right angles to the gate tines (G1-Gk). The signal line control unit operates to charge the polarity of the signal voltage at predetermined intervals. A further control and regulating unit changes the two supply voltages (VDD or VSS) by a predetermined amount. USE/ADVANTAGE - Avoids reduction in picture quality due to cross talk.
