Fitting insulated sleeves over connections between cables and cable crimp or solder tags - has prong with sleeve and three tubes inserted in between with removal in reverse sequence over tag
摘要
To fit an insulating sleeve over the bare metal connection between a cable and a tag, first, the rubber sleeve is slid over a cylindrical prong. Then a tube (longer than the sleeve) is worked down over the prong beneath the sleeve with compressed air blown into the small gap. This is then repeated twice with tubes of progressively larger diameters. The inside diameter of the outermost tube is larger than the cable tag diameter. The tubes are inserted in a hole in a mounting plate and the prong with two inner tubes is removed. The tag is inserted into the remaining tube which is then pulled through the mounting plate. The sleeve slides off onto the exposed cable connection. ADVANTAGE- Rapid and simple sleeving process that can be automated.
