摘要 PURPOSE:To obviate fusing of an ink ribbon and a transfer recording material to each other and obtain high dyeability, by specifying the critical surface tension of the surface of one of an ink ribbon and a transfer recording material. CONSTITUTION:A surface having a critical surface tension gammac of not more than 31dyne/cm is provided between an ink ribbon and a transfer recording material, in forming an image by a method wherein an ink surface of a sublimation transfer ink ribbon is brought into contact with a dye-receiving surface of a transfer recording material, and the dye on the ink ribbon side is sublimed and transferred to the dye-receiving surface of the recording material by heating. A resin with gammac<=31dyne/cm is used part or entire part of a resin used as a binder for the ink and that used for forming the dye-receiving surface of the recording material, or such a resin is internally added to be susequently caused to ooze out to the surface,whereby the value of gammac of at least one of the surfaces to be brought into contact with each other is set to be not more than 31dyne/cm. Accordingly, fusing of the ribbon and the recording material to each other can be obviated, favorable dyeability can be obtained, and clear images with high density can be obtained.
