PURPOSE:To increase CO2 gas generation efficiency at the time of over-charge and enable overheat due to the over-charge to be early prevented. CONSTITUTION:In a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery where LixMO2 (M stands for at least one of transition metals, or more preferably at least one of Co and Ni, and X stands for a value expressed as 0.05<=X<=1.10.) is used as a positive electrode 2, and a current cutout means 8 operating according to a rise in battery internal pressure is fitted, the electrode active material LixMO2 is made to contain a ribbon or needle type of lithium carbonate. |
