A valveless rotary machine, such as a pump or motor, has a plurality of rotors which extend transversely between two opposite walls and which interact, in a sealing manner, with the said walls and with one another, so as to form at least one sealed working chamber. The rotors can rotate in the same direction, so that the volume of each working chamber can be varied, and are provided with inlet and outlet means for the working medium. The cross section perpendicular to the axis of rotation of each rotor is defined by at least six arcs of a circle, which arcs intersect one another at least in pairs, in such a manner that at each intersection point tangents on the respective two arcs include an angle of less than 180 degrees.
