This ceramic glaze is used for extra application on common glazes and finds application in the manufacture of various types of linings, ornamental and household ceramics and porcelain. It makes possible obtaining a better gloss and highlighting the ornamental effect of the underlying glaze. This glaze has a low thermal expansion factor, 43.4-53.1x10 <-7> degrees C<-1>, enabling its application to ceramic porcelain, semi-porcelain and other products, and a baking temperature within the 760-850 degrees C range. It is made up of 70-99 percent frit containing, in percent: 27-31 silica, 3-4.5 aluminium oxide, 0.08-12 iron oxide, 30-38 boron oxide, 0.1-0.2 calcium oxide, 1-2 magnesium oxide, up to 4.5 barium oxide, 3.5-4.5 sodium oxide, 0.1-0.2 potassium oxide, 0.15-23 zinc oxide. The glaze composition also includes 1-5 percent of kaolin and 8 percent of zirconium.
