PURPOSE:To provide a document input device which creates an easy-to-read document by properly performing a hyphenation process for a character and symbol string that should not be separated originally. CONSTITUTION:This device is equipped with an input part 1 for inputting characters, etc., a control part 2 which controls the whole device, a document management and storage part 3 which stores the inputted characters, etc., and manages page information, etc., a sentence end decision part 4 which decides whether or not there are characters exceeding the end of each line in the document management and storage part 3, a line information decision part 5 which decides whether or not the line where it is decided that there are the characters exceeding the end of the line is at the bottom of a page, a hyphenation decision part 6 which decides that hyphenation is necessary when the line where it is decided that there are the characters exceeding the end of the line is not at the bottom of the page, but decides that hyphenation can not be done when the line where it is decided that there are characters exceeding the end of the line is at the bottom of the page, a hyphenation processing part 7 which performs the hyphenation processing, a word-lapping processing part 8, and a display part 9. |
