The basic comb (2) comprises two basic frames (4) with central core (5) between them. The exchangeable frames (3) are connected to the basic frames (4) by clips (8) which grip the two together leaving a gap (11) between them. Two or more disc combs (1) form the honeycomb and distance pieces are used to hold them together. A distribution unit in the form of a box holds two or more exchange frames together by means of clips. After the cells on one side have collected honey the exchange frames are turned and the filled cells are closed, the cells in the basic comb being permanently filled with honey. ADVANTAGE - Simple and good value. Produces honey of a high degree of purity.
