PURPOSE:To provide a highly reliable device realizable with a simple system by providing a similarity arithmetic part for storing a normal crash waveform showing the kind and strength of crash and determining the similarity between acceleration signal and the normal crash waveform, and judging the collision on the basis of the operation result. CONSTITUTION:In a normal collision waveform memory part 12 for storing a g-signal waveform forming the norm at crash, several normal crash waveforms are prepared, for example, by kinds and strengths of collisions. A similarity arithmetic part 13 operates the similarity of the inputted g-signal to the normal crash waveform stored in the normal crash waveform memory part 12. A crash judging part 14 outputs a squib start signal when the g-signal is similar to the norm crash waveform of the kind and strength requiring the protection of occupants. A similarity arithmetic part 13 determines the similarity from at least one of comparison in area between the waveform (g) and the normal crash waveform (a), comparison in inclination (gradient), and comparison in level. When the g-signal is similar to the g-signal waveform at travel on a bad road, no squib start signal is outputted. |
