PURPOSE:To prevent the leakage of a molten metal from a molten metal pool by energizing the other roll from one of water cooled rolls to pass electric current to a molten metal and passing the electric current to an energizing plate in the direction opposite from the direction of the current flowing in the molten metal. CONSTITUTION:The energizing plate 5A is disposed in the state of closing the molten metal 2 on both outsides of the water cooled rolling rolls 3A, 3B and an electric power source 6A for the energizing plate is connected to the plate 5A to pass the current thereto. A voltage is impressed from a power source 4A for energizing the molten metal via slip rings 7A, 7B provided to the fulcrum shafts of the rolls 3A, 3B to said rolls to pass the electric current to the molten metal 2 in the molten metal dam formed between the two rolls. The direction of the current is made opposite from the direction of the current to be passed to the plate 5A. The molten metal tending to leak from the side faces of the rolls is thereby subjected to electromagnetic repulsive force and is prevented leaking. |
